A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to non-existent email addresses under the very same domain. For example, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can get messages from mates or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Just one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be sent to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

In case you have a Linux web hosting with us and you wish to enable the catch-all feature for a particular email mailbox that you have in the web hosting account, it’ll take literally only a mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have created under any domain name registered in the account. You can pick one single address per domain name by clicking the corresponding button. This will enable the feature right away, so all messages sent to mistyped addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button once more will turn off the catch-all feature. If you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary notification and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you delete the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

A catch-all email address can be created with several mouse clicks if you have a Linux semi-dedicated hosting with our company. The semi-dedicated account will be managed via our in-house created Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will be able to set up email addresses under any domain registered here. To activate the catch-all feature for a certain mailbox, you will have to click on the icon with the same name, which will be on the right side of each mailbox. Disabling this functionality can be achieved in the same manner and will not take more than a click either. If the catch-all functionality has already been activated for a certain domain, you’ll receive a warning notice. The same goes if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never disable or modify any feature automatically.
